- What is the SmartPass Cape Town and when is it activated?
The SmartPass Cape Town is your ultimate Cape Town sightseeing pass, providing free entry into over 50 of Cape Town's top attractions, tours, and experiences as well as discounts at restaurants and adventure activities. For a full list of included attractions, click here.
The SmartPass will activate when you visit your first attraction and the pass is scanned upon entry.
- Are the 2-day, 3-day and 5-day Passes for consecutive days?
No, your SmartPass may be used on the days you choose, within a seven day period from first activation. The PASS will activate upon entry at your first attraction and the days will conclude at midnight.
You may split your pass days up and use as you choose.... example, if you activate your 3-day Pass on Monday, it will be valid for any 3 days up until midnight Sunday, 7 days later.
- Is there a limit to how many attractions I can visit in one day?
No! You can visit as many attactions as you would like in day with the SmartPass.
Please note that you will not be able to re-visit attractions more than once with the Pass. Once your pass has been scanned at an attraction, it will not grant you free entry into the same attraction again. If you wish to re-visit an attraction, you will be required to pay the general admission fee.
- Can I visit the same attraction more than once?
Sorry, you can visit each attraction just once with the Cape Town Pass. However, you can visit as many attractions as you are able within the validity period of your Pass.
- Are the Attractions accessible all year round?
Most attractions included on the SmartPass Cape Town are open all year round with just a few days closure around Christmas and New Year.

- Do I have to make reservations for Attractions?
No, most attractions do not require reservations. However, some tours do require, please check the information attraction pages in the app ahead of your visit. It's always best to book at least 2-3 days ahead of when you wish to tour.
Please note pre-booking tours will not activate your Pass
- How old do you have to be for a Child Pass?
Child passes are reserved for children between the ages of 5 and 15 years old. Children who are 4 years old and younger will not need normally need to have a pass purchased for them. However, some attractions may charge for entry. Each child pass holder must be always accompanied by an adult pass holder.
- What about Special Offers and how do I benefit from them?
Special Offers are unique deals we have made with Restaurants and Adventure Activities that are not free with your Pass. On presentation of your Pass, they will give a discount or other offer, as specified on this website and the Mobile App.
Please note that these are valid for up to 7-days after the expiry of a Pass.

- How far in advance can I buy the SmartPass Cape Town?
You can purchase SmartPasses up to 12 months in advance. That means that you have a full year to activate your passes by visiting your first attraction. One year after your purchase, the passes will no longer be valid if you have yet to activate them.
- How much can I save with SmartPass Cape Town?
The more you see the more you save, so the longer the pass duration the better the value. But remember, you only need to visit a few attractions before you start saving money.

- Is it safe to buy SmartPass Cape Town online?

- Is there enough time to buy the SmartPass Cape Town last minute online?
Yes, once your order has been received and payment confirmed, SmartPasses are immediately emailed to you.
- How do I use a promo or discount code?
Enter and redeem your offer code on the checkout page after you have chosen your product (s). Please note, offer codes cannot be used in conjunction with any other discount.

- Do I have to use my SmartPass same day I purchase online?
No, once you have purchased the SmartPass Cape Town you have up to a year to use them. The Pass will not be activated until you use it at the first attraction, tour or experience you visit.
- Why haven’t I received my email confirmation?
Your emailed Order Fulfilment should normally arrive in your inbox a few minutes after completing a purchase. If you have not received, check your spam filter or junk folder.
If you still cannot locate please send a request to our customer service team (info@smartpasscapetown.com) confirming your name, contact details and order reference number, if available.
- Will downloading the SmartPass to my digital wallet activate the pass?
Downloading your SmartPass will not activate your Pass. The Pass will only activate upon visiting your first attraction.
- I purchased a MyCiTi Travel card, where can I pick it up?
You can collect your Travel Card(s) from Cape Town Tourism offices at the Airport or City Hall. You will need to show your Order Fulfilment as proof of purchase. For more details, click here.
